Amazonic's Interview
1.
What’s
your real name and country of residence?
Thomas, Germany
2.
What
inspired your name, Amazonic?
I was about to
register a nickname for YouTube when I thought of the Amazon. I basically just
added an "ic" and it kind of became an adjective and voilá, there we
go. Nothing too special.
3.
So
do you have an interest in the Amazon? Or was it just a random choice?
It was actually
random, but I love thinking of the atmosphere of it. I'm a guy who loves
nature, my nick has something to do with it.
4. Do you have any hobbies in real-life?
No real hobbies,
but there are many things that are interesting for me. Drawing, riding bike,
playing badminton, learning new things, a bit of philosophing about topics that
have something to do with me or every human..
5.
How
long have you been playing CIT?
Since the idea
was made. That was a few months before release.
6.
So
how has being a founding member affected your CIT experience?
I was not really
a founding member. I did take part in some decisions and did test things and
play in the beta, but I did not really found the server. However, being pretty
much one of the first few people who even knew about the project is just..
well, it's "cool". You're respected, and you know how things began
and how they were changing and growing. I was inactive for a few months though,
so I do not know allabout the past of the community.
7.
How
did you find out about the CIT project?
Dennis sent me a
query on another IRC server. He said he was talking to Arran about the idea and
invited me to join them. Of course, I accepted. That's how things began.
8.
What
are your real-life ambitions?
That is a
question I keep asking myself as well. What I basically want is to live a good
life with enough money, not alone of course, and yeah.. I enjoy living simple
and just like all the small good things in life. Living TOO simple is boring
though. I still have much to learn, and what I learn is what I want to teach
others. If I'll become an uncle one day (or a father, that would probably, not happen)
I would want to be a really good one and always be there for the kids, help
them and everything. The father does that usually, but I for myself know that I
would be really happy if my uncles and aunts would always be there for me. They
can't because they're not living in Germany, I don't want others to live like
that. I'm just always there for friends and family.
9.
What
did you like most about being an admin?
The powers. You
could just fuck idiots in the ass and make them shut up whenever they were
being, well, idiots. Not to mention the event features. I surely enjoyed making
events if there were no idiots around. Also you're respected by non-idiots, and
its fun to talk to other staff about different things.
10.
Favorite
memory in CIT?
Moving out of
the beta. We were all happy dappy and everything was fun. All staff (including
me) got an instant promote to Level 2 when CIT1 was released. Good stuff.
11.
How
was the beta different from when CIT1? Which period did you prefer?
The beta had
less features, more bugs and many things were not finished and still in a
testing phase. That's when everyone made fun events and played together,
absolutely no assholery or anything, everyone was just having fun. We barely
played on our own. That slightly changed when we moved out of the beta, staff
started to do their jobs properly and things. I can't tell what I prefer, both periods
were just fun and had their own positive and negative sides. Hah, I still
remember when everyone still had random nickname colors. Nobody was inside a
team on TAB. :P That was in the beta of course.
12.
Do
you ever see yourself return to IG activity?
No. I barely
have any interest in the game anymore. If I play then it's because I have
nothing to do or because a friend invited me to play - usually. It just became
boring, and that won't change. People continue to play on their own, there is
less teamplaying, less playing with friends, many idiots online.. those things
keep me away.
13.
Tupac
or Biggie?
None.
14.
What
caused you to leave the staff team?
Hopefully this
is the last time people ask me why I left - again. The idiotic players ingame
who have no respect and see everything as a game without any rules were pissing
me off, daily. My mood was always down, it even started to affect my real life,
I realized. Being a staff also kept me on MTA, I simply had to do my job.
That's when I decided to leave for the last time.
15.
If
the IG side of CIT doesn’t interest you anymore, what makes you stay active in
the Forum/IRC side?
The whole
community. I simply have friends here, I had a lot of fun with them. I want to
keep it that way.
16.
Obama
or Romney?
Obama for sure!
